wow, its obvious this band is incredibly optimistic and happy, if you like the bare-naked-ladies you can hear this optimism in most of there songs. love this song ^^

Doesn't seem too emo to me. From what I can understand from the lyrics, he just wants people to understand he's not perfect, in any way like people might think. That and emo isn't always bad music, if it sounds good,like this, the it is good.
