I glad other people remember Ride for being the fantastic band that they were.
They kind of went out of fashion big time in the UK, but did some amazing songs!
I wish UK music was still this good... most of the best bands at the mo seem to be American or even Canadian.
Class! Shoegazed to my hearts content to this one. Covered it a band too. Every cliche possible. Wasn't allowed to go to feile when they played the friday. missed the roses and the mondays too. what a line-up that night
I was lucky enough to see My Bloody Valentine live in September, so thats one band on my dream-list crossed off (I still want to see them again, because I was out of it, and barely remember a thing). Now all I need are a Ride reunion tour, a Curve reunion tour, and a Catherine Wheel tour.
Well...actually theres a lot more bands I'd like to see. Ride is probably at the top of the list though.
Live At Brixton is perhaps the best concert film ever besides Woodstock: 3 Days Of Peace and Music.
I always point people to this song, when they say that Oasis's "Champagne Supernova" is the best syrupy ballad ever.
Not only did Oasis steal Rides sensibilities, they also stole one of their members. The bastards!
Oasis is alright, but Ride are infinitely better. I never understood brit-pop. It was like shoegaze, with all the best parts removed.
Where do you think Stoned Roses got their beat from, don't think Ride could rip them off seeing as they Vapour Trail is an older song! Ride & even Morrissey got me through those days with a bit of shoegazing & hope. Try looking for the good. It's worth it. From a 40 something-er.
